I am an eighty-one years old male who was blessed with good to excellent health until 2009, when I began experiencing back problems. I finally had to seek medical help to deal with the pain.
I sought out a well-known neurologist, who diagnosed me as needing major surgery of the spine. He installed metal plates and screws in my spine. I seemed to improve for a while and then began to have back pain again and was unable to stand straight.
I contacted Doctor Jeffrey Carlson of the OSC for a consultation and analysis. Following extensive X-rays and an MRI, he stated that I had a curved spine, joint deterioration and a nerve that was pinched. He said he believed that he could help me but that it would require major, major surgery.
After much consternation and one cancellation, and much urging for my caring, loving family, I agreed to have the surgery.
The surgery went well and four days later I was released from the hospital with specific instructions and a support belt and battery-operated bone stimulator. He gave me a follow-up appointment to check on my progress.
During the follow-up visit, he showed me a comparison of the before and after X-Rays. It was amazing! He had installed metal rods and screws that resulted in correcting the curved spine, and repaired several discs. This has enabled me to again stand straight, and resulted in a gradual decreasing of the back pain. I am very grateful to Doctor Carlson for giving my life back. In my opinion, he is tops in his field. I would highly recommend him for any and all surgeries involving the bones or joints.
