I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Boyd Haynes to do your hip replacement. My wife heard about him when she struck up a conversation with an older gent in the grocery store in Norge. He was zooming around in a self-propelled cart and was very enthusiastic about his surgery and that Dr. Haynes operated on everyone in his retirement community….
I set up an appointment within a week. My concerns when I went in:
1. Recovery time
2. I have one leg longer, which is the root of the problem, Can you level me out?
3. How soon can you do it?
4. How long will it take?
Dr. Haynes paid attention to all my questions. He did not overcommit on making both my legs even in length. He said that he could get me close, but could not promise me anything.
What I was so excited about was, that when I came out of the OR, Dr. Haynes was right beside me, giving me the good news about balancing out the length of my legs. The thing is, he was more excited than I was! I came rolling out and he was fist-bumping me, telling me what he did, and that it was the first time he was able to do that for somebody.
He said he sent the nurse to the lobby to look at my shoe and get a measurement on it. Then, he double and tripled-measured my legs with a computer that he uses as a tool during the hip replacement operation.
He is just so passionate about what he does. I felt like I got personalized care, because he remembered what I had asked about and did everything he could do to accommodate me.
Dr. Haynes has had a huge impact on my life.
